THE LONG-AWAITED MDL has finally arrived.
For aspiring amateur and professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players, the time for them to shine has finally arrived as another major esports event is about to commence.
The MLBB Development League (MDL) has announced that its first season will commence on February 15, 2023.
With the MDL now open as a companion to the MPL-PH pro scene, fans can finally witness the prowess of young and driven MLBB athletes, determined to make a breakthrough to the bigger MPL stage.
This will serve as the debut of the MDL in the Philippines. Its Indonesian counterpart is already on its 7th season.
No teams have been announced for the MDL
So far, it is unsure which teams will join the MDL. However, there are no shortage of prospects from the various amateur teams in the Philippines that competed in Dark League's Kings League, ULVL's Juicy Legends, and even the Sibol qualifiers.
Rosters from the likes of GameLab, Euphoria Esports, AP Esports, Lazy Esports, MHRLKA, and Nexplay 2.0 might make their way in the 1st season of the MDL. Even Minana Esports, who recently announced their MPL debut, might bring reinforcements for their MDL team.
It would also be interesting to see how the MDL PH will operate. Its Indonesian counterpart is renowned for allowing teams from the main stage to switch players with their MDL rosters. Will this happen in the Philippines?
But most importantly, this league could pave the way for amateur players to finally get the recognition that they deserve, especially knowing that the Philippines is considered to be the most powerful region in MLBB.
