WITH A NEW BATTLECRY and a new logo, Season 11 marks a new beginning for the MPL Philippines.
And right from the get go, the action is intensified as the opening day features the rematch of the M4 World Championship finals between Blacklist International vs. ECHO PH.
The Codebreakers might reveal a new starting cast alongside the V33Wise tandem while the Orcas are fresh from their M4 victory and could be gunning for more trophies.
But that isn't the only opening day spectacle as Nexplay might reveal something fresh in their sleeves. It's unsure if the team will follow Setsuna "Akosi Dogie" Ignacio's idea of going for a total reboot or if they'll stick to the old guards featuring John Paul "H2wo" Salonga and Renejay "RENEJAY" Barcarse.
And whoever will suit up for Nexplay on the opening day, will surely have a challenge ahead given TNC's quest for redemption.
More epic battles ahead
And as the season progresses, there are other enticing matchups ahead.
The following day will see the defending world champions clash against Bren Esports, who could potentially rattle the scene after an impressive Sibol campaign.
Then on Day 3, Bren will face Omega Esports, in a potential classic given that these two teams managed to amaze the crowd in the Season 10 playoffs. Day 3 will also feature the battle between RSG and Onic PH, two teams who had a heated rivalry due to Ralph "Rapidoot" Adrales' statements back in Season 10.
Without Rapidoot in Onic's roster for Season 11, will the rivalry maintain its spark?
And if the opening week has some interesting clashes, there are other battles that are worth noting.
The Blacklist-Omega clasico will happen on Week 2, then two weeks afterwards, the Codebreakers will clash against the mighty Bren Esports, who nearly gave Blacklist a scare back in Season 10.
With so much epic matches ahead, the battle between these Filipino hopefuls could surely produce a new set of storylines that will forever be engraved in MLBB history.
Who will shine in the regular season? Who will stand out? The battles begin on February 17, 2023.
