Jetson Glean Ignacio, aka Goyo, is one of the frontmen of TNC Pro Team on social media. “Pogi kasi,” the team joked when asked about why Goyo was very prominent on the team’s TikTok channel. Goyo is TNC’s midlaner.
From afar, Goyo is instantly recognizable with his deep-set dimples and engaging eyes. Up close, the midlaner is soft-spoken and reserved but is always smiling even when he is talking about things that make him sad.
When we asked what he thinks about being one of the prominent faces of TNC, especially on TikTok, he paused for five seconds before answering.
But what is his response to bashers who say Goyo and TNC should just focus on TikTok and quit MPL?
Prior to becoming a pro player, Goyo, was an IT student at the University of the East. He dreams of becoming an IT professional. Although he paused studying in 2020, he has resumed studying in 2023 and has enrolled at AMA University.
“Pangarap ko po talaga maging IT professional,” Goyo told SPIN.ph.

While playing for an amateur team, Goyo was hoping to be part of the MDL team of TNC, but shares that it always got postponed. So nag tryout po ako sa TNC for Season 11,” said Goyo.
Unknown to many, Goyo has two siblings in TNC: Coach Scholar, who is his younger brother, and Ingrid Ingacio, TNC’s operations manager.

Hailing from Caloocan, Goyo was born on November 1, 1999 while Coach Scholar was born on April 1, 2001. Goyo shares a birthday with team captain Ben Maglaque, aka BenThings, who was born in 1995.
Delving into the dynamics of the Ignacio brothers of TNC, we asked if Goyo is ever reprimanded by his younger brother Coach Scholar.
“Opo, kapag may mga error sa scrim. Hindi naman po pagalit, pinagsasabihan lang.”
With three siblings in the esports industry, we asked how their parents reacted when they chose to pursue an esports career.
The MPL-PH Season 11 was the debut season for Goyo. And it was the most heartbreaking season for TNC, landing back-to-back bottom places in the league from the previous season. Goyo shares his feelings about being part of that ordeal.
“Noong nag top 8 po kami…” Goyo pauses, as if trying to find his voice in the swelling of emotion.
His voice seemed to disappear as he mentioned his team. It was evident that he was recounting memories he did not want to remember.

But something happened in the last leg of the regular season. TNC pulled off one of the greatest upsets in the history of Philippine esports. In a back-to-back match, TNC defeated two world champions, which were also the top 2 seeded teams in Season 11: BREN and ECHO.
Speaking with Goyo’s sister and operations manager of TNC Pro Team Ingrid Ignacio during those gripping moments in Season 11, we asked how they felt about defeating ECHO and BREN. “For a moment, we felt like champions,” she said.
With TNC’s highly produced and emotional roster reveal for MPL Philippines Season 12, it was evident that the team is no longer playing around. Themed “Rise from the Dead,” it encapsulates TNC’s evolved determination to represent the Philippines in the M5 World Championship. But there is a very long way to go, starting with Season 12.
Goyo and TNC has undergone an awakening from being “dead” for the past two seasons. Their uprising has already begun. Goyo and his teammates recently won the championship in the 2023 Juicy Legends tournament, in what could be a foreshadowing of their fate in the MPL Philippines Season 12.
What's above must come down, what's below must rise up. Goyo and the Phoenix army will rise from the dead, and nobody’s safe.
