ONE OF THE biggest names in Philippine VALORANT history is now parting ways in the competitive scene.
Jayvee "DubsteP" Paguirigan was once considered to be one of the best Jett users in the scene plus he even brought some pride and honor to the Philippines when he propelled Team Secret to a VALORANT Champions birth back in 2021.
But those days are long gone and after years of grinding, it was time for him to officially hang his boots.
"I’ve been thinking for quite a while now and decided to quit competitive VALORANT. I think the 4 year run wasn’t so bad after all. I had great teammates throughout my career, placed 5th-8th on the first ever VCT Champions and for that I will be truly forever grateful," he started on his Twitter post.
DubsteP may have never garnered a trophy in his career, but he will forever be grateful for the experiences he had.
"I’ve been competing for 9 years straight now and I can say I’m a little tired from the everyday practice, everyday grinding and every year “almost” qualified run. But man, VALORANT gave me the chance to meet the coolest people in esports(pros, coaches, talents and people behind the scenes). It’s an experience I could never forget," he reflected.

What's next for DubsteP?
With him out of the competitive scene, questions could be raised on where he would end up. He may no longer be playing as a pro, but DubsteP admitted that he is open to coach a team.
"Though I couldn’t lift a trophy, it was always my dream of being able to lift one as a player. Maybe in the near future I could lift one as a coach?"
But for now, the Filipino duelist main will be spending his time making content.
"I will be focusing on content creation and streaming watch parties while I think about the next step moving forward. I’d like to take this opportunity as well to thank everyone who has been supporting me. You guys are truly the best."
"This isn’t goodbye. This is me telling myself and everyone that I had a great journey despite not being able to reach the ultimate goal. I had so much fun and If I get a chance to live it all over again, I would love to," he said.
After bringing Team Secret to the VALORANT Champions Stage back in 2021, DubsteP tried desperately to return back to the biggest stage in VALORANT esports. Unfortunately for him, his return never materialized.
At the tailend of his playing career, he took his talents to Oasis Gaming.
