FNATIC ONIC Philippines booked the first slot to the MPL Philippines Season 14 grand finals and qualified for the M6 World Championship after defeating Falcons AP.Bren, 3-1, on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.
Inching closer to the MPL championship title, Fnatic ONIC Philippines remained committed to the grind to the top, and the impressive marksmanship of Duane “Kelra” Pillas did not go unnoticed in the eyes of the two-time world champion coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro.
“I think they're super matured how they approached the game. They have a solid identity on what they want to happen inside the game, and I think they're very much deserving to be in M6."
"I’ve been rooting for Kelra for so long. I think it's his birthright to be there. So I'm really happy for the kid,” coach Ducky said, celebrating the milestone of Fnatic ONIC Philippines and Kelra stepping onto M-Series for the first time.
Kelra was flattered to receive praise from one of the respected coaches in the league.
“Masarap din sa feeling yung ganun na parang napuri ka ng isa sa tinitingala din na mga coach. Basta masaya ako!” Kelra expressed.
Meanwhile, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel also recognized the key factors that propelled Fnatic ONIC Philippines over Falcons AP.Bren in the upper bracket finals match.
“Para sa akin sobrang ganda ng chemistry nila ngayon. Tapos alam nila yung kakayahan ng mga pini-pick nilang hero. Kung ano yung tamang playstyle na gagamitin sa hero nito. Kung poke lang ba o all in sila. Kabisadong kabisado nila, kaya talagang nama-master nila yung meta ngayon. Tapos sobrang deserving naman talaga nila,” Pheww said.

The final push
Although Fnatic ONIC Philippines stunned the reigning world champion Falcons AP.Bren, the mission is not yet over.
“I think yung reaction ko after ng match kanina nagtatatalon ako. Pero afterwards we really have to compose ourselves. Not too low, not too high. At the end of the day, the job's not done. M6 reps pero yung everelusive na championship nandiyan pa rin eh. So Sunday, we’re gonna give it our all,” coach Anthony “Ynot” Senedrin said, prepared to pour their hearts out in the grand finals match on Sunday evening.
Kelra is now on the brink of achieving the elusive MPL Philippines title, a dream that he has been chasing since his MPL Philippines Season 7 debut with Execration. Against all odds, can he finally weave the strings of fate in his favor along with Fnatic ONIC Philippines?
