The win came as a fitting follow-up to her victory over Kristina Tkach of Russia on Friday in the Women’s Challenge of Champions, a competition between the 9-ball and 10-ball champions of 2024, that won her $15,000.
In total, Amit won a total cash prize of $37,500 or roughly P2.25 million.
The Filipina billiards player was just five months removed from winning the Women’s World 9-Ball Championship last September in New Zealand.
Amit even had to reach the knockout stage of the Las Vegas Women’s Open via the losers’ bracket. After beating Americans Ada Lio and Briana Laine in straight sets, she was beaten by compatriot Chezka Centeno, 2-0.
But Amit was able to advance to the knockout round via a sweep of Silviana Lu of Singapore, 2-0.

In reaching the finals, Amit won all matches even after losing the first set.
The 43-year-old beat Kelly Fisher of United Kingdom 3-4, 4-2, 4-1, 4-2, in the round of 16, and Wan Ling Wang of Chinese Taipei, 2-4, 4-3, 4-3, 4-2, in the quarterfinals before overcoming Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, 1-4, 4-1, 4-0, 4-3, in the semifinals.
In the Challenge of Champions, Amit won the 9-ball match in straight sets, with Tkach bagging the 10-ball with a 2-0 win.
She captured the crown with a 6-3 win in the 8-ball.
