UAAP set to make announcement on status of Sunday games in wake of typhoon threat

Oct 15, 2016
Sunday games pit UE against FEU and Ateneo against Adamson.

THE UAAP is expected to make a decision on Saturday on whether to push through with Sunday’s matches in Season 79 at the Filoil Flying V Centre in the face of a threat from typhoon Karen.

League officials said they will make an assessment of weather forecasts before making announcement about the status of Sunday’s ballgames with typhoon Karen expected to hit Metro Manila on Sunday.

The men’s basketball matches that could face postponed are those between University of the East and Far Eastern University, and Adamson against Ateneo at the San Juan venue.

The UAAP isn’t the only sports events that could be suspended on Sunday.

The PBA has also issued a memorandum that the league will make an announcement at 9 a.m. on Sunday on whether to postpone Game Five of the Governors’ Cup finals between Barangay Ginebra and Meralco.
