THERE'S a chance Game Five of the PBA Governors Cup Finals between Ginebra and Meralco will be postponed on Sunday owing to the threat of typhoon Karen.

The Commissioner’s Office is currently keeping track of the typhoon, which, if it remains on its current path and pace, is expected to hit Metro Manila by Sunday.

Game Five is expected to attract another sellout at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday after Ginebra and Meralco fought to a 2-2 standoff following four thrilling games in the finals.

So far, signal No.3 has been raised in Catanduanes and signal No. 2 in Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte.

League media bureau chief Willie Marcial has already alerted both Barangay Ginebra and Meralco teams, PBA personnel, and members of the media about the possibility of cancelling the game should bad weather prevail 48 hours from now.

“Sunday’s game can and will be cancelled in the event typhoon Karen intensifies,” said Marcial in a memorandum. “Please monitor our website @pbaconnect and social media sites for news and updates.”
