SOULEMANE Chabi Yo felt the weight of the world after being hailed as the Season MVP this UAAP Season 82.

And the pressure piled on as he headed to University of Santo Tomas against Far Eastern University on Wednesday.

"I'm very happy and at the same time it was a big pressure for me. I have to prove that I'm the MVP and I have to give my best every game," he said.

Aware of the challenge that's been handed to him, the Beninese high-flyer made sure to give his best, firing 25 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists as the Growling Tigers advanced to the stepladder semifinals with an 81-71 victory over the Tamaraws.

The UST crowd made sure to shower him with adulation, giving him MVP chants when the game ended.

"It was very surprising and emotional for me. At the same time, I'm very happy because you have people supporting you. It gives you more motivation," said the 6-foot-6 forward.

Victorious as UST is, Chabi Yo acknowledged that the job isn't over, with University of the Philippines waiting on the wings on Sunday.

And he expects another tough outing in that duel, all the more as the Growling Tigers will have a twice-to-beat disadvantage in the series against the Fighting Maroons.

"UP is the most talented team and we should not make many mistakes against them. At the same time, we don’t have to be pressured and we should play excellent defense. We have to make stops, and that’s our mindset," he said.
