REY Remogat is taking his talents to the University of the Philippines in one of the biggest offseason moves in UAAP men's basketball thus far.
Last season's Mythical Team member and MVP race runner-up made a shock exit from the University of the East, where he was poised to take over the Season 87 captaincy for the rebuilding Red Warriors after initially turning down multiple offers elsewhere.

"I want to express my sincere thanks to UE for providing me with the opportunity to be where I am today. I will forever be indebted to all of you for the opportunity you gave in shaping my present and future," Remogat said.
"But now it's time for me to make a decision for what my family needs and where I can grow as an athlete. This decision is not easy, but it is a necessary step in my journey. After careful consideration with my family and loved ones, I believe the next step of my career is playing for the UP Fighting Maroons in Season 88 to 89," he added.

Now obliged to redshirt the forthcoming UAAP season, Remogat is being groomed to be the successor of another ace guard in JD Cagulangan, whose future with the Maroons remains uncertain.
"We love the current guards that we have, siyempre, pero at the same time, we're excited to have a player like Noy (Remogat). Magiging malaking bagay siya para sa future natin," UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde said.
The 20-year-old hotshot's breakout sophomore campaign in Season 85 swiftly positioned UE into Final Four contention with averages of 16.5 points, a league-best 7.9 assists, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.0 steals before falling ever-so short in the final week of prelims play.
His undeniable value to the Red Warriors was further solidified as he had the most minutes played by any player in the league last season (483:27 mins; 34:31 avg).
This, on top of leading the league in assists and offensive fouls drawn (8 ofd; 2.0 avg), second overall in steals (28 stl; 2.0 avg), three-pointers made (37 3PM; 2.64 avg), third in scoring and free throws (44 FTs; 3.14 avg), and fourth in total field goals (75 FGs; 5.36 avg),
A bright future awaits the UP Maroons with an all-star guard rotation set in stone for at least Season 88 and beyond with Remogat joining the likes of Janjan Felicilda, Gerry Abadiano, Harold Alarcon, Chicco Briones, and Terrence Fortea.
"I look forward to learning from Coach Gold (Monteverde) and experiencing the support of the UP community. UP, here I come. UP Fight!" Remogat said.
