UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas forward Ira Bataller claimed he’s been suffering from abdominal pain for three weeks now which the Tigers coaches ignored during their controversial training in Sorsogon.
The 6-foot-4 bruiser said he started to feel pain in his abdomen a month into the Tigers' bubble training in coach Aldin Ayo's hometown, which is now the subject of an investigation for violating health protocols during the pandemic.
Bataller said he tried to convince his coaches to have him checked in a hospital, but claimed that they just kept ignoring his pleas.

Bataller spoke about his condition in a group chat among UST players and their parents which former team captain CJ Cansino posted on Twitter on Wednesday. The posts have since been deleted.
“Puro pork tsaka sobrang mamantika ng food dito. Tapos ‘nung nagkasakit po kami, sa amin sinisisi, sabi po samin ng nagluluto dito [na] bago pa daw kami pumunta dito, may sakit na daw kami,” he said.

Bataller also revealed that he lost weight as the illness took its toll on his body.
Feeling ko kaya ako nagkasakit dahil sa food dun,” he said.
Bataller said he’s scheduled for a check-up on Thursday, his first since members of the team arrived in Manila from Sorsogon,
