Andrew Nicholson, Glen Yang injury updates
Bay Area faces a steep climb in its bid to drag Barangay Ginebra to a Game Seven in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals after Andrew Nicholson has been listed out due to his ankle injury.
A Dragons official confirmed the development on their star import, who has missed the last two games after sustaining his injury in Game Three.
As if that’s not enough, Dragons starting point guard Glen Yang is also nursing an ankle injury, but is fit to play “limited minutes.”
Can the shorthanded Dragons still give the Gin Kings a run for their money?
LA Tenorio injury update
It’s not only Bay Area that’s dealing with injuries.
Barangay Ginebra is holding its breath regarding the availability of LA Tenorio, who hurt his groin in the Gin Kings’ 101-91 win in Game Five.
Tenorio, the PBA Ironman who has yet to miss a game in his pro career, is putting his record for consecutive games played on the line as he underwent an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to check on his groin.
La Salle head coach candidates
The search for the next La Salle head coach has begun.
After Derrick Pumaren’s contract expired at the end of 2022, the Green Archers are seemingly headed into a different direction.
SPIN.ph has learned that Topex Robinson is the top candidate for the job, alongside former Gilas Pilipinas coach Rajko Toroman and Lady Archers coach Cholo Villanueva.
Robinson, though, has a standing offer from Phoenix after his contract recently expired.
On the other hand, it’s unclear if La Salle and Toroman have actually started negotiations.
