REY Nambatac will no longer return to TNT this season, but it isn't exactly because of the groin injury that he sustained earlier this conference.
Nambatac was no longer reactivated by TNT before the Monday noontime deadline of submission of playoff rosters for the PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup.

Sports5 later reported in its broadcast of TNT's quarterfinal game against Magnolia that Nambatac is dealing with a hip flexor issue aside from the groin injury which he suffered last month in a game against Meralco.
This means that the Commissioner's Cup Finals MVP cannot suit up for the Tropang 5G even if the team reaches the finals of the Philippine Cup where the squad is aiming for a grand slam.

Nambatac was relegated to the injured/reserve list last May 20 in lieu of Ping Exciminiano, based on league transactions.
The former Letran star was present for TNT's do-or-die game at the PhilSports Arena.
