ANTIPOLO – A verbal exchange between Terrafirma import Justin Strings and Converge guard Alec Stockton nearly led to a brawl after their PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup game on Tuesday at the Ynares Center.
Sources said Strings and Stockton exchanged heated words during the traditional handshakes at midcourt between the two teams after Converge’s 120-103 win over Terrafirma.

The incident later nearly spilled over into the hallway leading to the locker rooms.
Witnesses said Strings was spotted going over the general vicinity of the Converge dugout at the hallway shortly after the game, with teammates also seen trying to pacify their import.
Fortunately, the incident didn’t escalate as bouncers were also quick to prevent the Terrafirma import from getting very close to the opposing team's dugout.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and coaches Ronald Tubid of Terrafirma and Delta Pineda of Converge also intervened after the incident.
It was not clear as of posting time what led to the verbal spat, although Strings also exchanged words with Converge bruiser Calvin Abueva after a hard foul on the 'Beast' in the game's final minutes.
