Clark, Abueva, Arana help Converge put an end to four-game slump

ANTIPOLO – Converge finally arrested a four-game losing skid, beating Terrafirma, 120-103,, on Tuesday in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Center.

Cameron Clark made his mark in his first game as a FiberXer while drawing big outings from Calvin Abueva, Justin Arana, and Jaydee Tungcab in the team’s first win since their 149-124 trouncing off Macau last July 17.

The FiberXers now have an even 4-4 win-loss record to take solo fourth place in Group A, reviving their bid to make it to the quarterfinals.

Converge led by as many as 26 points, but that gap went down to 10 early in the fourth quarter before Clark stepped in to help the FiberXers weather the storm.

Clark, the third import to suit up for Converge this conference after Jamaal Franklin and Jalen Hudson, finished with 22 points, five rebounds, three steals, and two blocks, while Arana had 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Abueva had his second consecutive double-double after churning out 17 points and 11 rebounds for the FiberXers.
