SIDNEY Onwubere is set to return to the PBA after NLEX signed him to a two-conference contract, the team announced.
Onwubere was left without a team after he was unsigned by Titan Ultra after the latter bought the PBA franchise of NorthPort lock, stock and barrel.
He is already eligible to play for Sunday’s game against Magnolia at the University of Santo Tomas Quadricentennial Pavilion.

“Very happy na makabalik. I’m going back to one of the MVP Group teams, and that makes it more exciting,” said Onwubere, who once played for TNT, which was actually his first PBA ballclub when the No. 8 pick in the 2017 draft was immediately traded to the Tropang Texters.
“Hopefully, I can contribute even a little bit and help NLEX continue their excellent standing,” said Onwubere.

He also looks forward to playing again with Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon, his former teammates at NorthPort and Rain or Shine respectively.
