Incidentally, Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao picked Porter in the second round of the 2018 PBA rookie draft at No. 16 overall when he was still with NLEX. Porter played for the Road Warriors from 2019 to 2022.
The former Ateneo big man has since suited up for Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters in the MPBL from 2024 to 2025.

At Rain or Shine, the wide-bodied 30-year-old is set to fill a void in the frontline following the health issues of Beau Belga, who has been relegated to the unrestricted free agent with rights to salary list due to his vertigo and astigmatism.
Porter will not yet play for Rain or Shine in its game on Wednesday against Phoenix, incidentally his former ballclub.
