PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said he will have a word with Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong about their involvement in the Spiderman streaking incident that marred Game Five of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Friday night.
The San Miguel players got a little too physical with the men the action with 3:08 remaining in the game in the hotly contested battle between the Beermen and the Magnolia Hotshots.
Tubid chased the mask-wearing streaker, later identified as Paolo Felizarta, and managed to sneak in a punch as bouncers and PBA personnel led him out of the Smart Araneta Coliseum floor.
Cameras caught Tubid doing the act, one which he immediately apologized for after the game.
"Siguro, dala lang ng init ng ulo," he said. "Pagdating sa team namin, nagdilim yung paningin ko. Hindi ko lubos matanggap na bakit. As a veteran, kailangan ko ipagtanggol yung teammate ko. Yun lang. Pero ‘yung nasuntok ko, sorry."
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses shared that Nabong hit a second man, later named as Flenn John Lola, when security picked him up from the stands and dragged him through the court on their way out.
"Kakausapin ko sila," said Marcial when SPIN.ph reached out to him for comments.
Felizarta's camp said it is mulling charges against Tubid for the incident.
