CANDON City - Marcio Lassiter will never grow tired of trying to go for a first-ever PBA Three-Point Shootout title in the PBA All-Star weekend.
The 38-year-old gunner came close to finally breaking through on Friday, only to be denied by Jerrick Ahanmisi in a thrilling shootout at the Candon Arena.

Ahanmisi edged out Lassiter, 30-25, in the finale to complete a double in the Skills Challenge after ruling the Obstacle Challenge among guards.
Although disappointed, Lassiter vows to try and try again.
"Of course, I know you guys want to see me shoot. I love to show off for the fans," said the PBA's all-time record-holder for most three-point shots made.
"We'll see how it goes in future All-Stars" he added. "Just having fun in the All-Stars."
Obviously the sentimental favorite to win the contest, Lassiter appeared right on track after topping the eliminations with a total of 25 points.

The veteran wingman made the finals against Juan Gomez De Liano of Converge and Ahanmisi, who both finished with 22 points apiece.
Lassiter, whose wife hails from nearby Santiago town, was the second shooter after De Liano tallied 18.
He also scored 25 in the finals, but could have finished with a higher score but turned cold in the final rack
Ahanmisi delivered under pressure, surpassing Lassiter's score even before he reached the final rack.
"It's that close. Sayang," Lassiter said "Of course, it hurts. But at the end of the day, you just have to put your best foot forward, which I did."
