LESTER Prosper feels Terrafirma can turn things around after the Dyip finally ended a 25-game losing streak in the 2022-23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The Dyip import said he wished the team had more time this conference as they are starting to pick it up after losing a couple of close games and having good practices over the past few weeks.
“We had a good practice yesterday. The past weeks, we had good practices. I feel like everybody is coming together, and the chemistry is coming together. I wish we have a little more time. But obviously, we don’t,” said Prosper after Terrafirma ended the slump with a 124-114 overtime victory over NLEX on Friday night.

“This is good that we are doing this and we are coming together now. I’m glad that we can stop this funk that we was in, the streak, our losing streak. I’m happy that I can contribute to stop this,” Prosper said.
The Terrafirma import scored the most points in a game in franchise history after exploding for 50 points in the victory over NLEX. Prosper had seven points in overtime to seal the Dyip's first win in nine months.
“It means a lot with our morale. We’ve taken a hit. The games we’ve been losing, we’ve been fighting but when it comes to the third quarter, we tend to be lackadaisical including myself. I’m taking accountability,” said Prosper.
As for the game, Terrafirma coach Johnedel Cardel said he told Prosper to contribute more in the game especially in scoring.
“I talked to him everytime and said, maybe you can contribute more. I told him that they have to follow my instructions, getting some rebounds, making assists to your teammates, creating for your teammates, like he did now. I told him that in this game, you are going to score 50 points,” said Cardel.
“He did say that yesterday,” Prosper seconded.

Prosper said Terrafirma actually has a good, young team that can be competitive if allowed to stay together for a lengthy period.
“It’s not that we are not a fighting team. But we have to learn how to win. And that’s what it is. These are young guys. All the time, we have new faces that come into Terrafirma. We have to constantly replace and built chemistry. It’s kinda crazy but it’s all right,” said Prosper.
The Dyip are hoping to sustain the momentum as they wrap up the conference with games against San Miguel on Wednesday and Phoenix on Saturday.
