KEN Holmqvist is trying out at Blackwater, which is giving the big mab an opportunity to land a roster spot.
Holmqvist has been spotted in the training of the Bossing, with head coach Ariel Vanguardia saying that the former first-round pick of Barangay Ginebra currently listed as a practice player with the team.

The 6-foot-8 Holmqvist was drafted in the first round, 12th overall, by Ginebra in the PBA Season 46 draft, but was left unsigned. He last saw action in the Fiba 3x3 Manila Masters last June.
“Maganda ‘yung height niya pero siyempre, nag-struggle pa siya on a 5-on-5 setting. May potential pero sabi ko sa kanya, nasa kanya kung maro-roster spot siya,” said Vanguardia.
“Right now, practice player siya,” he added.
The player with Norwegian roots saw action for Far Eastern University in the UAAP where he won an MVP award in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League. He once had a call-up with Gilas Pilipinas.
Vanguardia said he hopes to see Holmqvist improve over the course of his training with the Bossing.
“Maganda ‘yung passing niya at may shooting for a big man. Physicality, medyo mag-aadjust pa siya,” said Vanguardia.
