JUSTIN Chua's appearance in Game One of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals was shortlived after suffering an injury on Sunday.
Chua was seen holding on to his right knee after posting up against Justin Brownlee at the 8:45 mark of the first quarter. There was serious concern on Chua as he appeared to have suffered a non-contact injury.

But there is hope that nothing serious happened to Chua’s knee.
“Nag-lock ‘yung tuhod ko,” said Chua after Game One. “’Yung initial na check-up is nothing serious naman. Pero siyempre, kailangan pa rin mag-MRI. Then, we will go from there.”
“It’s not painful eh. I can’t straighten it lang. Walang pain. I’ve had [an] ACL [injury before]. Nakakalakad naman ako. Sana nabigla lang. Weird lang ‘yung feeling. Hopefully, through the days, okay na siya,” said Chua.
Chua’s absence hurt TNT in his first finals game with the team since the Tropang GIGA acquired him in a trade with Phoenix.
Already with a thin frontcourt as Kelly Williams missed Game One as he is still recovering from an injury, TNT sorely missed Poy Erram in the latter stage of the match-up after incurring six fouls.
“Ako naman, gusto ko tumulong sa team especially maganda ‘yung start ko. I got a block shot. Perfect start for me. We were in the game," said Chua. "Nanghihinayang lang ako na biglang nangyari ‘yun. Of all the times, sa finals pa.”
