JUNE Mar Fajardo has soaked in so much from Bay Area that he welcomes the potential return of the Dragons or another foreign bguest team in future PBA tournaments.
June Mar Fajardo welcomes Bay Area return
The San Miguel superstar was held to just nine points on 4-of-15 shooting, although he did have 16 rebounds, on top of two assists, and one block in almost 38 minutes in his team's 94-92 loss in Game Four.
Despite the loss, the league's best big man believes the Beermen, and the entire league for that matter, benefited from the presence of the foreign guest team.
“Marami kaming natutunan sa Bay Area. Hindi lang kami, pati buong PBA,” Fajardo said. “Sana next conferences, may guest pa rin. Malaking bagay yun para sa PBA.”
The six-time MVP realized that perimeter shooting is one of the things he still needs to improve on to better challenge a Dragons side featuring NBA veteran center Andrew Nicholson and 7-foot-5 Chinese center Liu Chuanxing.
Fajardo is still proud of the rest of his team for staying toe-to-toe against their elite foreign opponent.
“Pero credit pa rin sa teammates ko, maganda yung laro nila,” Fajardo said. “Andnun pa rin naman kami sa game, pero talo lang talaga. Bawi na lang next conference. Good thing, healthy kami and sana healthy kami next conference.”
