JORDAN Heading’s return from a back injury remains unknown although the incoming TNT player has ramped up activities in preparation for his comeback which he hopes to happen as soon as possible.

Heading said there is no timetable yet on when he is going to play after he started dealing with a bad case of back spasms in Game 3 of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal series against Rain or Shine last February.

Pending approval from the PBA Commissioner’s Office, Heading has been sent to Tropang 5G in exchange for Mikey Williams. Prior to the trade, Heading has been doing his rehab with Converge.

“Just with Converge, I’ve been doing non-contact things and a lot of things on my own. I’m not just doing one rehab session a day. I’m doubling up. I’m going to do two times, three times a day, do whatever I can to get back out on the court faster.

“But as we kinda ramped up things for myself on the court, we will just continue to assess the situation, continue to assess how my body is feeling, try not to rush into anything that is too soon,” said Heading on Wednesday after Converge's win over Terrafirma in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Asked if he can return to boost TNT’s bid for a historic grand slam in the Philippine Cup, Heading said, “I would hope so. It’s fluid with this. It’s not really a set timetable so it’s kinda hard to say. But I certainly hope so. We will just see what happens."

But the 29-year-old Heading also hinted that there's a chance that his comeback may happen next season.

“Hopefully, I can get myself into shape and get myself healthy so that I can help them as soon as possible. Whether that’s this conference or next conference, we will see,” said the 6-foot-2 Heading.

Regardless of whether it is this conference or next, however, TNT is set to get an added boost on offense especially from the outside, being one of the top perimeter players in the league before going down with an injury.
