TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa began his post-game press conference on Wednesday by wishing LA Tenorio the best as he battles colon cancer.
“Shoutout to LA and his family. We all feel for him and we are pulling for him,” said Lastimosa after TNT defeated Phoenix Super LPG, 132-105, in their quarterfinal match in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup.

The PBA held its first playdate since the 38-year-old Tenorio revealed he is battling Stage Three colon cancer and will undergo treatment following surgery a few weeks ago.
Lastimosa was the first coach to use the postgame platform to wish Tenorio well.
Lastimosa worked with Tenorio during their time with Alaska when Lastimosa was still an assistant coach to Tim Cone and Tenorio was playing for the Aces from 2008 to 2012.
Lastimosa said he knows that Tenorio will be able to pull through and win his battle with the dreaded disease, knowing how strong his former player is even during his early days in the PBA.
“Knowing LA with the time that he spent with us at Alaska, he is really a strong guy. If there is somebody who can go through this problem, it’s LA. I think he is built for this. If this disease is going to come to somebody, si LA is a guy who can take this.”
TNT's Facebook page also had a message to Tenorio on Tuesday.
"Get well soon, LA. Praying for your speeding recovery, Gineral," the post of the TNT Tropang GIGA Facebook page read.
“I just want to say na we are saying a little prayer for him,” said Lastimosa.
