Team manager Paolo Trillo said Govan set to arrive on Thursday in time for the Saturday contest.

The 25-year-old Govan is taking over from O’Bryant, who averaged 26 points, 14.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.3 steals through six games with the Bolts. Reports said that O’Bryant is set to play for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association.
The Bolts are currently at 11th place with a 1-5 win-loss record and in danger of missing the playofs.
Despite his relatively decent numbers, O’Bryant couldn’t help Meralco overcome its struggles with the team already reeling from the absence of Chris Newsome, who is nursing a calf injury.
Govan recently concluded his second stint with Ignite in the G League. Prior to his first foray, the former Georgetown cager played for San-En Neophoenix and Kyoto Hannaryz in the Japan B.League and Seoul Samsung Thunders in the Korean Basketball League.
Govan also played in Puerto Rico.
During his stint with the Hoyas, Govan was named All-Big East Freshman Team after leading his team in blocks. In his junior year, Govan had 17.9 points and 10 rebounds during the 2017-2018 season, the first time in 15 years that a Hoya averaged a double-double.
