ANOTHER former Bay Area Dragons player will make a comeback in the PBA.
Hayden Blankley has been signed up by Hong Kong-based guest team Eastern for the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup which will serve as his second stint in the Philippine domestic league that will begin its new conference on Wednesday at the Philsports Arena.
The HK Eastern Basketball Team posted the signing of Blankley on its Facebook page with PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro also confirming the development in an interview with SEAG Network.
With the addition by the PBA guest team, Blankley has reunited with Glen Yang and Kobey Lam for Eastern after being part of the Bay Area Dragons squad that also played as a guest team in the 2022-23 Commissioner’s Cup.

The 24-year-old small forward averaged 13.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals for the Dragons during his first foray in the PBA.
The former Dragons triumvirate will try to equal or even surpass their previous performance where they reached the finals of the Season 47 Commissioner’s Cup, losing in Game Seven against Barangay Ginebra.
Eastern will play in Day One of the Commissioner’s Cup where it will go up against Phoenix Fuelmasters on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
The Australia-born Blankley, who played NCAA college ball with West Texas A&M, played in last season’s East Asia Super League for the New Taipei Kings that went all the way to the final four, and finishing fourth in the competition.
