JAMAAL Franklin returns to Converge as he replaces Jalen Hudson in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.
Franklin played for the FiberXers in the 2023 Governors’ Cup under then-head coach Aldin Ayo. He returns to the team now coached by Delta Pineda even with the team off to an impressive 3-1 win-loss record in Group A.

Even though the FiberXers got off to three straight wins to start the conference, Hudson was largely ineffective and gun-shy averaging 12.4 points, although he also chipped in 6.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.5 steals.
The former TNT import scored just two points in their second game of the conference against Terrafirma.
The team confirmed the news on Monday, making him eligible to play for the FiberXers’ next game against TNT at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The situation is no longer new for Franklin, who was also called in by Converge as the replacement of Ethan Rusbatch after just one game in the 2023 Governors’ Cup.
He averaged 34.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, 7.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.6 blocks in 10 games with the FiberXers before being replaced by former New Zealand Tall Black Tom Vodanovich ahead of the playoffs.
After his stint with Converge in 2023, Franklin mostly played in Australia and China.
