CHICAGO - Schonny Winston, the No. 9 overall pick of the 2023 PBA rookie draft, is on the trading block, a Converge source told SPIN.ph on Monday night.
A star at La Salle where he led the Season 85 MVP race, Winston's final collegiate season was cut short by a torn calf. But when healthy, he was a devastating weapon who averaged 21.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals a game.

Now back to full fitness, Winston is showing the promise of his potential.
In his four games as a pro, Schonny has piled up a total of 54 points while shooting 53.8 percent from the field (21-of-39) and 40 percent from3-point range(4-of-10).
Yet now he has found himself on the trading block as Converge, which has yet to buy a single win four games into the PBA Philippine Cup and in 15 games from the Commissioner's Cup, winds down a disappointing season.
Converge coach Aldin Ayo talked briefly when asked about the team's decision.
"He is a good player and a great kid, but he doesn't fit in our system," the Converge coach said in an interview.

Unbeaten Blackwater had shown immense interest in the 6-foot-4, 190-pound Fil-Am guard, but the talks fell off when the Bossing acquired point guard Rey Nambatac from Rain Or Shine last February 13.
A two-way player with a knack for steals, it will be interesting which lands the sweet-shooting and hard working Winston.
