CHICAGO — After giving Jalen Hudson the boot for averaging just 12 points sa game, Converge had hoped that a new import can spark a dull offense.
What happened instead was a three-game spiral that turned a sparkling 3-1 start into a 3-4 nightmare in the ongoing Season 50 PBA Governors’ Cup.

And with that, Jamaal Franklin is out.
In his first foray with Converge in 2023, Franklin turned heads by averaging 34 points a game. This conference, though, he has been disappointing, especially on defense.
UNDERWHELMING.
Although Franklin averaged 27.3 points per jn three games, he shot the ball only at a 44.7 percent clip.
In a 126-114 loss to San Miguel on Tuesday, Franklin was pelted with 46 points by his counterpart George King.
With Franklin as reinforcement, the FiberXers have surrendered a total of 355 points in three straight losses.
Per multiple sources, the FiberXers are planning to bring in Cameron Clark to bolster the internet giant’s dwindling fortunes in Group A play.
The availability of Clark, however, is uncertain.
Undrafted in the NBA in 2014, the Oklahoma alum has an extensive international career that includes multiple stops in the PBA.
RETURN ENGAGEMENT.
The 34-year okd forward played for NLEX in 2022, for San Miguel in 2023, served as a Bkackwater back-up in 2024 before suiting up for guest team Hongkong Eastern in the 2024-25 Commissioners Cup.
Assuming Clark is a go, Converge might just right the ship.
“Malakas yan,” a PBA coach familiar with Clark’s exploits, told me.
Hopefully, the third time’s the charm for coach Delta Pineda.
