CONVERGE is ready to move on the new PBA season without Abu Tratter and Maverick Ahanmisi, who have yet to renew their contracts with the new club.

Head coach Jeff Cariaso said Tratter and Ahanmisi have yet to come to terms with the FiberXers, who acquired their rights after purchasing the Alaska franchise lock, stock and barrel during the offseason.

With the season just days away, Cariaso is almost resigned to the fact that Tratter and Ahanmisi will not be seeing action in Converge's first-ever PBA game against Rain or Shine on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

“They are currently still in negotiations, still talking,” said Cariaso. “After a while, you kinda just have to move forward. Right now, that’s the idea.”

“We are starting in a few days. Right now, we are allowing them and giving them time to negotiate and talk to management, and then let’s see what will happen in the future.”

As for the chance of the two playing against Rain or Shine in the opener, Cariaso said: “Medyo malabo kung opening. But I’m expecting sometime during this conference. There’s a chance that they come in or not.”

If the two go elsewhere, Cariaso is ready to go to battle with the players that he has.

“Again, if not, we are happy with the guys that we have now. It’s how it is. We have to learn how to move forward. We can’t wait for a long time. Iba ‘yung you are here. You have to show up. That’s where we are right now,” said Cariaso.
