INJURIES continue to hurt Meralco despite a 107-91 win over Terrafirma Wednesday night in the PBA Governors Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Guard Aaron Black is the latest to join the Bolts’ sideline as he is suffering a meniscus injury that kept him out of the game against the Dyip.
Worse, his absence could extend to about a month.
“He’ll be out for one month,” said to coach Luigi Trillo when asked about Black’s health status. “That’s a big blow para sa amin.”

The Meralco mentor added Black is set for surgery after being checked by doctors recently.
“He has to have surgery,” said Trillo.
Black also missed the Philippine Cup last season after going down with a torn ACL which fortunately, didn't require surgery.
Black later said he'll actually undergo just a minor surgery.
"Hoping to be back in a month or less," the son of champion coach Norman Black related to SPIN.ph.
The injury forced him miss the Bolts’ first-ever championship run after beating the highly-favored San Miguel Beermen in the all-Filipino finals.
Aside from Black, two other Bolts didn’t suit up against the Dyip in Chris Newsome and Raymond Almazan.
Newsome was in uniform but the coaching staff opted to rest him after spraining his ankle the last time against TNT, while Almazan is still suffering from back spasm.

Even active consultant Nenad Vucinic was not around as he was constantly vomiting the other day.
“Hopefully he’ll get better. Pero hindi talaga siya puwede,” said Trillo of the Serbian coach.
Still, the situation didn’t prevent Meralco from notching their second win in three outings to join Converge and TNT in a three-way for the top in Group A at 2-1.
