WHILE he respects the call made by game officials, Beau Belga believes the flagrant foul penalty 2 infraction slapped on him was overboard.
At the most, he said a flagrant foul penalty 1 would do.
"Nagulat ako actually. Expected ko F1. Ok lang. Pero F2, dun ako nagulat," said Belga of the incident that led to his ejection Wednesday night early into the PBA Governors Cup game between Rain or Shine and Phoenix.
"Pero wala kang magagawa doon. It's their judgement. They're the referee. I'm not the referee."
The burly veteran was tossed out early in the first quarter after elbowing sophomore Jason Perkins just below the neck, am act which the referees deemed as F2.
Belga spent the rest of the game inside the Rain or Shine dugout and watched as the team lost a close one, 86-84.
There was no regret in his action, according to Belga, saying Perkins had been repeatedly setting up picks which Phoenix would continue to run if the Fuel Masters won't fight it.
"I was like para hindi na maulit, susubukan kong sisindakin. E nagkataon na tumama. Pero hindi ko expect na F2," said Belga.
What he did regret was letting his team down as it suffered its fourth loss in five outings.
"May regret ako kasi isa ako sa beterano. Nag regret lang ako kasi naging ganun yung kanilang assessment," he said.
"Naka-apekto rin sa amin," he added. "And siyempre frustrated on my part kasi alam ko may maitutulong ako."
