TASKED to hit a game-winning shot is never easy.
But for Bal David, making a clutch shot is probably easier than naming an all-time Barangay Ginebra Starting Five.
After all, with countless stars to have played for the PBA’s most popular team, it’s understandable to miss a handful of notable names.
Asked to pick his all-time Ginebra starting five on SPIN Zoom In, David thought hard before naming his choices.
“Ang dami, sobra. Hirap mamili,” said the former Gin Kings star who’s known for a couple of dagger shots in Ginebra history.
Here’s David’s version.
Bal David on all-time Ginebra Starting Five
ROBERT JAWORSKI

“Combo guard si coach Sonny,” David said of the original face of the Ginebra franchise and the man behind the never-say-die mantra, having had the honor to play with Jaworski in the last two years of Big J’s career.
JAJAY HELTERBRAND
While Jaworski can man the point, David is more comfortable putting the ball in the hands of Helterbrand, the 2009 league MVP.
“Coach Sonny can stretch to one and two, then Jayjay will stick to one, pwede rin mag-two,” David said.

MARK CAGUIOA
David is putting the 2012 league MVP on either wing spot, and a passing target by Jaworski and Helterbrand.
“Mark can play two or three,” David said.
NOLI LOCSIN and MARLOU AQUINO
David missed Japeth Aguilar and other Ginebra big men greats, but he doesn’t mind.
“Dito sa dalawa (center and power forward), biased na ako, kaibigan ko ‘to eh: Marlou and Noli,” he said with a chuckle of his longtime teammates.
“Well, si Noli naman that time, makikita mo naman, nung prime ni Noli, makakapag-baragan yan,” he was quick to add. “And Marlou.”
