ARWIND Santos is bracing for another bloody, heated matchup with Calvin Abeuva as the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals between Alaska and San Miguel Beer unfold with Game One on Friday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.
After the two Kapampangan stars figured in scuffles and heated exchange of words in the Philippine Cup Finals, Santos is not discounting the possibility of an encore as the best-of-seven series begins at 7 p.m.
“Pwedeng mangyari ulit kasi ang basketball talaga ganun eh,” Santos said after the Beermen eliminated Rain or Shine, 117-110, in the semifinals last Wednesday.
“Dito natin masusubukan yung ugali at pagmamahal natin sa trabaho natin,” the SMB star added. “Nandito na yung pride at ayaw nating nasasapawan.”

It’s also hard to avoid especially in this biggest stage of the tournament where the last title for the season is up for grabs, the former league MVP added.
Santos is likewise gearing up for an entire Alaska side that’s out for vengeance after narrowly losing to the Beermen in seven games in the all-Filipino conference.
“Nandito yung mga agam-agam na reresbak ang Alaska,” Santos said of the Aces, who swept two-time defending champion Star in three games in their own Final Four pairing.
