ADRIAN Wong is taking a sabbatical from basketball after four seasons in the PBA.
In a statement released through Titan Management Group, the Converge cager said the break from basketball is what he felt was needed at this point of his career.
Converge will retain his rights even with the decision of Wong, who also thanked the FiberXers for their support in his personal decision.

“After careful consideration, I’ve chosen to take a step back from playing basketball for the meantime,” said Wong in a statement. “This decision stems from a personal need to recharge physically and mentally.”
“I believe this is in my best interest as I’ll be able to spend much-needed time with my family and girlfriend,” said Wong.
“I appreciate the understanding and support of everybody around me, especially my family and friends, the players and management of the Converge FiberXers, and the rest of the PBA community,” said Wong.
A two-time UAAP champion with Ateneo, Wong was drafted fifth overall by Rain or Shine in 2019, and played for the Elasto Painters until 2022.
Wong signed with Magnolia where he was also named as the MVP in the Rookies, Sophomores, Juniors Game in the 2023 PBA All-Star Weekend in Passi, Iloilo in March 2023.
One month later, Magnolia traded Wong and a future first-round pick to Converge for David Murrell and Abu Tratter.
