FROM the juniors team to the seniors team now.
New Letran coach Allen Ricardo brought to the men’s basketball team a pre-season tradition he previously did with the Squires that eventually brought success back to the Muralla-based juniors program.
From Ricardo to suspended team captain Pao Javillonar, the entire Knights squad are sporting a bald look going to their first game of NCAA Season 100 against rival San Sebastian at the FilOilEcoOil Arena in San Juan on Sunday.

Ricardo did the same thing to his Squires team in Season 99 when they all decided to play with a buzz cut as a tribute to the last juniors squad from Letran to win an NCAA championship, composed of familiar faces such as RJ Jazul, JayR Reyes, JC Intal, Rey Guevarra, and coach Jing Ruiz.
The result had them winning the championship in back-to-back fashion.

This does not mean the seniors team will follow suit and regain the championship it last won two years ago.
Whatever the outcome of the season, Ricardo said at least the Knights were able to show they’re together in one major goal.
“Para makita rin yung unity nila as a team,” said the first-year Letran mentor.
“Kung ano yung coaching style ko nung juniors, same lang din sa seniors,” Ricardo added. “Ako kasi, aside from techniques, importante sa akin yung right attitude, right body language.”
The Letran community sent off the entire Knights team on Sunday with a mass held by the school’s NCAA Management Committee head Fr. Vic Calvo just before it take to the court the San Sebastian Stags.
