FRAN Yu won a championship for Letran with one of his idols Chris Ross watching.
Now, he gets a chance to train with the San Miguel guard.
Coach Bonnie Tan said that Yu has been invited by Ross himself to join him in practice, hoping to add more to the arsenal of the 5-foot-10 Knights playmaker.
"Pinuntahan ni Chris Ross si Fran Yu at iniivite to practice with him. Baka makakuha ng tips para tumibay pa yung pagiging player niya, para di siya mag-cramps," shared the soft-spoken mentor.
The two had a brief chance to talk during Game Three of the NCAA Season 95 seniors basketball Finals, where Letran beat San Beda, 81-79, to win the school's 18th NCAA title on Tuesday.

Ross even gave Yu a pair of sneakers on top of some encouraging words, motivating the 21-year-old to play well for the Knights and be named as the Finals MVP.
The kind gesture further boosted Yu's awe of Ross, hoping that he could improve more and follow the footsteps of the two-time PBA Defensive Player of the Year.
"Idol ko yun kasi balewala sa kanya yung score," said the Tondo-bred point guard. "Depensa, pasa, rebound. Lahat ng small things pag pinagsama-sama niya, nagiging malaki. Kaya sobrang idol ko talaga siya."
