The No. 2 overall pick of the LA Lakers in the 2017 NBA draft sat out two seasons due to a complicated knee issue but made a successful return with the Bulls, averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds in his comeback.
His resurgence made him a target for teams looking for a veteran player to run their offense, and sources said there have been not a few interest from other ballclubs which the Bulls front office considered.

But in the end, ESPN's Shams Charania tweeted that the Bulls have decided to keep Ball with a fresh extension to sontinue his renaissance in the Windy City.
Ball, 27, will now be part for the foreseeable future of a new-look Bulls side that is now without Zach Lavine, who ended up in Sacramento with the Kings in the three-team trade that sent De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs.
