    Providence gets back at Creighton as Kobe Paras again a DNP

    KYRON Cartwright hit a triple with two seconds left as Providence edged Creighton, 68-66, on Wednesday in Omaha, Nebraska (Thursday, Manila time).

    The Friars got back at the Bluejays, who won their first meeting.

    Emmitt Holt scored 18 points on 6 of 13 shooting as Providence added to Creighton’s woes.

    The Bluejays have lost five of the last 10 games and will next take on NCAA champion Villanova.

    Cartwright finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Rodney Bullock also had a double-double of 10 and 12.

    The Friars made it three straight wins, improving their overall record to 17-11 and 7-8 in the Big East.

    The Bluejays, meanwhile hold a 22-6 mark, with a 9-6 win-loss record in the conference.

    Marcus Foster scored 18 on 6 of 16 shooting, while Justin Patton had 17 points, making 6 of 11 field goal attempts.

    Kobe Paras of the Philippines has not seen action in three games.
