Creighton gets a new win run going, downing Providence as Kobe Paras returns to action

Kobe Paras and the Bluejays make it back-to-back wins.

CREIGHTON got a new win run going, downing Providence, 78-64, on Saturday in Rhode Island (SUnday, Manila time).

The No. 10 Bluejays made it back-to-back wins after downing St. John’s following a loss to NCAA titleholder Villanova.

Justin Patton led all scorers with 20 points as Creighton improved to 3-1 in the Big East and also got a big boost ahead of the game against Butler.

The Bulldogs are No. 18 with a 14-2 record, including a stunning win over Villanova.

Maurice Watson came up with 11 points and 14 assists, Marcus Foster had 17 points and Khyri Thomas scored 16.

The Bluejays scored their 15th win in 16 games, as Kobe Paras of the Philippines, who did not see action in the last five games, returning to action for a minute.

Providence could not get a win run going after defeating Georgetown, and absorbed its sixth loss in 17 games.

Emmitt Holt had 17 points for the Friats, who hold a 1-3 record in the Big East.
