THAILAND is among the possible hosts for the planned mini-bubbles for the resumption of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.
That is if Fareza Tamrella, the team manager of the Indonesian men's basketball team, will be believed as he told BolaSkor.com that Thailand has expressed its openness to host the qualifying windows this November and in February next year.
"If the information I received [is correct], it is likely that [we will play in] Thailand. But it is not official yet. The date remains the same," he said.
Indonesia and Thailand are in the same group with the Philippines in Group A, together with Korea.
Gilas Pilipinas got the better of Indonesia, 100-70, back in February before the global COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the remaining games.

Korea is at the top of the standings at 2-0, while Thailand (0-1) and Indonesia (0-2) remain winless.
Only the top two teams from each group are guaranteed for the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup in Lebanon, with the third-place teams among the six groups fighting for the last four tickets.
Fiba announced last week its decision to push through with the next two windows of qualifiers for the continental tournaments, doing away with the home-and-away format in favor of the bubble concept.
Gilas is scheduled to take on Korea and Thailand in the November window, while it has games against Indonesia and Korea in the February window next year. Still to be rescheduled is the cancelled tiff against Thailand from the first window last February.
If indeed true, Thailand will once again serve as gracious hosts for the event after staging the 2018 Fiba Under-18 Asian Championship, with games being held at Stadium29 in Nonthaburi.
"There will likely be two groups in each bubble, maybe the Southeast Asian one," said Fareza. "[I'm] not yet informed about the rules regarding the swab test and others, maybe Fiba is still in the process [of finalizing it]. But we believe in Fiba that they will act and take a careful consideration."
