CHICAGO - Amid the highs and lows of its 2025 FIBA Asia Cup run, here's a bit of good news for Gilas Pilipinas.
FIBA has issued a final ruling on Quentin Millora-Brown, classifying the 6-foot-10 big as a local and not as a naturalized player after an appeal by the Fil-American's legal team.
Sources confirmed Millora-Brown's team has received from FIBA its final decision on QMB's status.

The news on his eligibility switch came just a day after Gilas Pilipinas' campaign in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 ended in a 84-60 loss to world No. 7 Australia in their quarterfinal in Jeddah.
However, the one-and-done center of the UP Maroons' title-winning squad in the UAAP last season should give future Gilas teams a lot more size and dexterity in the frontline teaming up with Kai Sotto and AJ Edu,
Gilas coach Tim Cone had not hidden his desire to have the 25-year old big man in his pool, saying after a tuneup against QMB and the Macau Black Bears, “He’s awesome. I’d love to have him. He is physical. He gets to the offensive boards real well. Great size."
With FIBA's official ruling, the former Vanderbilt player will be eligible to play for Gilas as a local beginning in the Asian qualifiers of the 2027 Fiba World Cup in November and the Philippines' defense of its Southeast Asian Games basketball gold medal in December in Bangkok.
Multi-titled Norman Black is set to be officially announced as the Gilas coach for the SEA Games.
