ZARK'S Burger intends to play in the PBA D-League next season, even as the Jawbreakers look to finish their dismal first stint with a bang in its final two games in the ongoing Foundation Cup.
The Jawbreakers own a 1-7 win-loss card and have suffered record-setting routs in the past two games heading into their next match against Marinerong Pilipino on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Despite the struggles in their first foray in the big leagues, team manager Sherwin Cantos said team management is unperturbed and committed to play next season.
"We plan to play next season," said Cantos. "This conference is a learning experience for us. We will continue to work even hard to build a competitive team in the next conference."
Cantos said the Jawbreakers are still in high spirits going into the next two matches despite losing by 76 points to Tanduay in their last match.
"We missed the services of our main guard Jam Sheriff (finals exams) and big man Mark Juruena (injury), and during the fourth quarter, we opted not to play Robby (Celiz) anymore and just preserve him for the next game," he said.
"We continue to practice hard and aim for a strong finish this conference," added Cantos, who added assistant coach Gino Enriquez has taken over the team for the final two games of the conference.
Former PBA star Mac Cardona also gives the Jawbreakers added firepower to go out with a bang in the Foundation Cup after confirmation of his entry to the team for the final two games.
