Former PBA star Mark Cardona returns to action as he suits up for Zark's Burger in D-League
Former PBA pro Mac Cardona starts his basketball comeback in the D-League with Zark's Burgers.

MAC Cardona returns to competitive basketball as he plays for Zark's Burger in the PBA D-League.

Cardona was activated by the Jawbreakers in time for Tuesday's match against Marinerong Pilipino, according to team manager Sherwin Cantos.

Cardona will play in Zark's final two games in the Jawbreakers' bid to finish the Foundation Cup on a strong note.

During his college career, Cardona was one of the key players of La Salle during their title run in the early 2000s under head coach Franz Pumaren.

Selected fifth overall in the 2005 draft, Cardona suited up for Talk 'N Text where he was a one-time member of the Mythical Five first team. He also played for Meralco, Air21, and NLEX until 2016.

From there, Cardona was in the news more off-the-court as he reportedly had a drug overdose in an apparent suicide attempt. He survived but has yet to return to the playing court until Zark's signed up the former Green Archer.

Zark's hopes a PBA veteran presence in Cardona will turn things around for the Jawbreakers in their final games this conference.
