FORMER Converge import Jamil Wilson will soon team up with Gilas Pilipinas ace Rhenz Abando after signing a 'lucrative deal' with the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

Standing at 6-foot-7, the former L.A. Clippers big man was officially introduced by the Korean side after his six-game stint in the PBA as a replacement import to Tom Vodanovich.

This time, he'll be filling in for Anyang's outgoing import Daryl Moore and will make his debut in the Philippines when his new club takes on the TNT Tropang Giga in the East Asia Basketball League (EASL) on Wednesday.

"Red Boosters basketball team Jung Gwan Jang Anyang signed a contract with Jamil Wilson as a replacement for Darryl Monroe, and announced a contract with KBL. Wilson is scheduled to play in the EASL game in the Philippines after arriving on Monday, [January] 22nd," the club announced.
Even with only half a conference of gametime to his name, Wilson posted staggering averages of 28.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks in roughly 45 minutes of play.
His resounding on-court presence still wasn't enough to turn Converge's troublesome campaign around as the FiberXers finished dead last in the team standings at 1-10 (win-loss) in the ongoing 2023-24 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Next up for Wilson is to be a catalyst of change for a struggling Anyang side with a 12-21 record. Without an injured Abando, Anyang currently sits seventh in the 10-team field as of posting time.
