CARL Tamayo picked up from where he left off and erupted for 31 points in Changwon LG Sakers’ 86-82 thriller over Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) on Saturday at Anyang Gymnasium.

The former University of the Philippines stalwart made sure that his efforts won’t go for naught this time out, firing 31 points, eight rebounds, two steals, an assist, and a block to push his side up to a 15-13 card.

It’s a sweet redemption for Tamayo whose 37-point night against the Seoul Samsung Thunders last Thursday ended in defeat.

This time, he made sure that Changwon would come away with the victory as his jumper with 1:27 left gave his side the 84-73 as Anyang ran out of time after staging a late 9-2 charge.

Javi Gomez de Liano collected 13 points on 3-of-7 shooting from deep, to go with five boards in the loss that kept the Red Boosters at the bottom of the standings at 7-21.

Still, Suwon KT fell to 15-12, still at fourth place in the standings.
