THE PBA Commissioner's Office on Wednesday approved three trades that enabled San Miguel to re-stock its roster with enigmatic star Terrence Romeo, vastly improved guard Paul Zamar and the returning Ronald Tubid.
After a messy falling-out with TNT KaTropa, Romeo was sent to San Miguel in exchange for bench players Brian Heruela and David Semerad as well as the Beermen's first-round pick in the 2021 PBA draft.
Zamar, who had a big breakout season at Blackwater after bouncing around smaller leagues the past few years, also got clearance to join the Beermen and dad Boycie in exchange for SMB's second-round picks in 2021 and 2022.
Lastly, Tubid returns to San Miguel as he swapped places with seldom-used swingman Keith Agovida in a straight-up trade with Columbian.
All three trades were approved, as is, by the four-man PBA trade committee.
Oddly, the PBA has yet to approve a separate trade by Blackwater that will send JP Erram to NLEX for 2018 first-round selections Paul Desiderio and Abu Tratter.
Also on the table is a separate three-team deal that will see Blackwater's No. 2 overall draft pick Ray Parks going to Meralco, Heruela and Jericho Cruz going to Blackwater and Baser Amer going TNT.
Sources said the deal may yet undergo a minor revision in the coming days.
