WWE FANS might remember Windham Lawrence Rotunda's creepy and frightening appearance as Bray Wyatt and The Fiend, but unfortunately his eerie presence in the pro wrestling scene will forever be missed.
It was announced that the 36-year old Rotunda passed away due to a heart attack.
Rotunda's wrestling career spanned all the way from 2009, where he grinded his way from Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) to WWE's development program, NXT. The following year saw him play the role of Husky Harris, where he joined one of the most notable heel groups, The Nexus.
However, his career didn't immediately explode as he returned to FCW in 2011.
Bray Wyatt's legacy
Eventually he was given the chance to return to the big leagues when his character was remolded to Bray Wyatt. From NXT, Rotunda rose all the way to the WWE where he became renowned for his supernatural appearance. He alongside Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, and later Braun Strowman, Daniel Bryan, and Randy Orton brought fear to the WWE as part of the Wyatt Family.
As Bray Wyatt, Rotunda had iconic matches with the likes of Randy Orton, The Undertaker, John Cena, and Roman Reigns. The Wyatt family even had notable feuds with the Brothers of Destruction and The New Day.
After his stint as Bray Wyatt, Rotunda then evolved into the Fiend, where he seemed like he had a child-friendly demeanor only for him to unleash his demonic side.
And Rotunda could've garnered more memorable moments, but his battle with a real-life illness prevented him to further ascend. Rotunda slowly disappeared in the scene, until his death.
