WORLD Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) programming will no longer be seen on Fox and Fox Sports in the Philippines after the two parties failed to reach an agreement on a new deal.
In a statement posted on its Facebook account on Monday, Fox Networks Group bared that all WWE fights and shows will cease to air on its cable networks in the Philippines effective immediately.
The Fox Networks Group apologized to its viewers for the “abrupt” announcement but added it attempted to negotiate a new deal with the premier wrestling outfit up to the very last minute.
“We regretfully inform our Philippine viewers that despite both parties’ best efforts, Fox Networks Group Asia and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) were unable to reach an agreement on the renewal of all WWE programming on Fox and Fox Sports.
“We apologize to our viewers for the sudden and abrupt announcement and request for their patience in this matter, as we have attempted to negotiate up to the very last minute,” wrote Fox in a statement.
The Fox Network Groups, however, assured it will inform the public on where fans can watch WWE programming in the Philippines once the information becomes available.
“We sincerely apologize to our viewers and assure that once we have the information on where fans may watch said programming, we will promptly notify and direct them towards the broadcaster that will be carrying said programs.”
Fox and Fox Sports are shown on almost all major cable and satellite pay TV providers in the country.
